crap.
Apparently scientists in Switzerland are building some kind of high powered atom smasher. I don’t really know what an atom smasher is, but other scientists are worried that this thing might create a black hole and destroy the planet.
Read about it here
.
That would totally suck. And not just the black hole.
Get it?

MARTA Adventures #2 – The Pull-Up Commando
Today is another exciting episode of “MARTA Adventures.” Today’s star is the Pull-Up Commando (PUC). Here’s how it went down:
I get on MARTA after an exhilarating day in Film Theory. It’s 4:30, so of course the train is going to be shoulder-to-shoulder standing room only. A pretty typical ride. Then things got not so typical. My boy, PUC, gets on the train. Now my first impression is, well, maybe he’s just gotten back from Iraq. After all, why would anyone willingly wear a camouflage bullet-proof vest. I’m all for safety, but come on.
PUC is pretty normal at first (minus the vest) but then he proceeds to go to the center of the full car and starts doing pull-ups. You heard me right, pull-ups. At this point I’m thinking that he really must be back from Iraq because he’s doing everything he can to keep his soldier physique. Well after about 20 reps he stops. Fast forward 5 minutes and he starts again. Again! I managed to snap a photo. This is in between reps.
Now I know the secret to staying in shape – MARTA pull-ups. Thanks PUC.

hmmmmmm……
I’ve had a slight hiatus in blogging world. Right now I am just basically contemplating life.
I am thinking how blessed I am to have a wonderful wife, how much I miss my family in Dahlonega, and where is this journalism degree going to lead me?
Should I go to grad school is what’s rumbling around in my head the most.
That’s about it right now.

MARTA Adventures #1 – Red Glasses Boy
I have decided to do a post from time to time about my adventures on MARTA. I ride MARTA everyday to school and I must say, I have seen some interesting characters. Probably the most interesting of these characters is the star of Adventure #1 – Red Glasses Boy (RGB).
Last Thursday I walk to MARTA from the apartment. As I enter narrowly missing the closing doors I sit down at one of the benches that faces in to the car as opposed to the other front or back facing benches. I look up and see RGB. My jaw dropped….I literally had no words. This is what I saw:
RGB in full glory. He is pointing out the red shoes he’s wearing to match his red glasses. Of course the plaid high waters didn’t help his case either.
Then he was ashamed of his appearance.
I can’t even begin to think about why someone would need glasses like that. Dude, you look like a clown. I have some red Puma’s myself, but I don’t accessorize with glasses that look like they came out of a Tom Petty video gone wrong.
No good can come from this outfit.

A little Top Chef anyone???
I have several things on the blogging to-do list. Hopefully I will get them on here in the next few days.
Father’s Day
I had a long entry about Father’s day typed out, but decided not to post it. Sunday was tough. I miss my dad.
Top Chef
A lighter note about Sunday. Let me preface this by saying Elizabeth and I are obsessed with Top Chef. It is such an awesome show and we’ve followed it every season it has been on TV. This season our (well at least my favorite on the show was Richard Blais.
He is an Atlanta native and just a great chef. We pulled for him until the very end on the finale when he….lost. It’s ok though. Elizabeth and I walked to a book signing in downtown Decatur and guess who was there? Richard Blais! We met him and he was a super nice guy. We got a picture and he signed our Top Chef cook book!
Sweet.
